NewYorkCIO has announced finalists for the 2019 New York CIO of the Year® ORBIE® Awards, which recognizes the best-of-the-best in New York City technology leadership. Winners will be announced at the CIO of the Year Awards breakfast on November 22, 2019 at the Grand Hyatt New York.

Becky Blalock, IT Thought Leader, Author, Speaker

Author of the bestselling book DARE: Straight Talk on Confidence, Courage, and Career and a trailblazer to the C-suite, Becky Blalock is a sought after speaker, IT thought leader and champion of skill and relationship building to achieve success in the workplace. Blalock is the Managing Partner at Advisory Capital, a consulting firm providing strategic insight for companies involved in the energy, information technology, and medical industries. During her 33-year career with Southern Company, Blalock held a variety of leadership positions before becoming SVP & CIO.

Janet Sherlock, CIO, Ralph Lauren Corporation

As CIO at Ralph Lauren Corporation, Janet Sherlock is responsible for the Company’s global technology strategy and execution. She and her team are driving Ralph Lauren’s technology transformation and digitization across product design and development, supply chain, ecommerce, digital and store operations. Prior to joining Ralph Lauren, Sherlock was CIO at Carter’s, Inc. and led the Digital and Omni-Channel practice at Gartner, Inc. Sherlock has also held various business and IT leadership roles at Guess?, Inc., Calico Corners, British Petroleum, and ExxonMobil. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for BJ’s Restaurants (BJRI) and serves as an Advisory Board Member for Backcountry.com. She recently served as a Public Officer on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) as well as Chairman of the National Retail Federation (NRF) CIO Council.
